PRIDE – ENVY – GREED – HATE – SELFISHNESS – SLOTHFULNESS – INJUSTICE – LUST – ANGER – FALSITY
The Ones Established Are Initially 7, Buh I’ve Come To A Realisation Of The Other 3, Which I Suppose Imposes Quite A Strain In The Group.
As The Saying Goes; “Pride Comes Before A Fall”.
Pride Is Usually A Feeling Of Superiority, A Self-Righteous Superiority That Makes You Feel You’re Above The World… And Above Everyone.
Pride is sometimes viewed as corrupt or as a vice, sometimes as proper or as a virtue. While some philosophers such as Aristotle (and George Bernard Shaw) consider pride (but not hubris) a profound virtue, some world religions consider pride’s fraudulent form a sin, such as is expressed in Proverbs 11:2 of the Hebrew Bible. In Judaism, pride is called the root of all evil. When viewed as a virtue, pride in one’s abilities is known as virtuous pride, greatness of soul or magnanimity, but when viewed as a vice it is often known to be self-idolatry, sadistic contempt, vanity or vainglory.
Envy (from Latin invidia) is an emotion which “occurs when a person lacks another’s superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it”.
Aristotle defined envy as pain at the sight of another’s good fortune, stirred by “those who have what we ought to have.”
Bertrand Russell said that envy was one of the most potent causes of unhappiness. Not only is the envious person rendered unhappy by their envy, Russell explained, but that person may also wish to inflict misfortune on others, in forms of emotional abuse and violent acts of criminality.
“Greed Is A Bottomless Pit Which Exhausts The Person Trapped Inside It In An Endless Effort To Satisfy His Needs Without Ever Reaching Satisfaction”
– Erich Fromm
VANITY ON VANITY = VANITY
Greed (or avarice) is an uncontrolled longing for increase in the acquisition or use: of material gain (be it food, money, land, or animate/inanimate possessions); or social value, such as status, or power. Greed has been identified an as undesirable behavior throughout known human history.
As a secular psychological concept, greed is an inordinate desire to acquire or possess more than one needs. The degree of inordinance is related to the inability to control the reformulation of “wants” once desired “needs” are eliminated.
One consequence of greedy activity may be an inability to sustain any of the costs or burdens associated with that which has been or is being accumulated, leading to a backfire or destruction, whether of self or more generally.
This Is When You Feel An Intense Disgust/Dislike Towards Someone Or Something
Sigmund Freud defined hate as an ego state that wishes to destroy the source of its unhappiness
As an emotion, hatred can be short-lived or long-lasting. It can be of low intensity – “I hate broccoli” – or high intensity: “I hate the whole world”
Hatred is often associated with feelings of anger, disgust and a disposition towards the source of hostility.
Selfishness is being concerned excessively or exclusively, for oneself or one’s own advantage, pleasure, or welfare, regardless of others.
There’s another side to “Putting Yourself First” that I consider Positive
Most Times, Life Doesn’t Really Work In The Way Of Putting Others first… Sometimes, You have to put yourself first then put others after… Something Like;
“To Give To Others, You Must First Have”
You can’t feed the “Needy” when you’re in “Need” Yourself 😶
Then, The odd side to it, is having enough and refusing to bless others around you, Now, That’s SELFISHNESS!
When it’s all about You… Everytime, You… No one’s feelings matter, just yours... Selfishness…
To be slothful is to be lazy. When you’re slothful, you don’t want to do any work. You just want to lie around, eat, watch movies, eat, and maybe doze off a little… Then wake up and eat!
Other factors that can lead to ‘laziness’ are fear and hopelessness. Some people fear success, or do not have enough self-esteem to feel comfortable with success, and laziness is a way of sabotaging themselves.
Injustice is a quality relating to unfairness or undeserved outcomes.
The sense of injustice is a universal human feature, though the exact circumstances considered unjust can vary from culture to culture. While even acts of nature can sometimes arouse the sense of injustice, the sense is usually felt in relation to human action such as misuse, abuse, neglect, or malfeasance that is uncorrected or else sanctioned by a legal system or fellow human beings.
Lust is a psychological force producing intense desire for an object, or circumstance fulfilling the emotion while already having a significant other or amount of the desired object.
Lust can take any form such as the lust for sexuality, love, money or power.
Anger, also known as wrath or rage, is an intense emotional state involving a strong uncomfortable and hostile response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat.
A person experiencing anger will often experience physical effects, such as increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, and increased levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline. Some view anger as an emotion which triggers part of the fight or flight response.
Modern psychologists view anger as a normal, natural, and mature emotion experienced by virtually all humans at times, and as something that has functional value for survival. Uncontrolled anger can, however, negatively affect personal or social well-being and impact negatively on those around them.
Deception (Falsity) is an act or statement which misleads, hides the truth, or promotes a belief, concept, or idea that is not true. It is often done for personal gain or advantage.
Deception is a major relational transgression that often leads to feelings of betrayal and distrust between relational partners. Deception violates relational rules and is considered to be a negative violation of expectations. Most people expect friends, relational partners, and even strangers to be truthful most of the time. If people expected most conversations to be untruthful, talking and communicating with others would require distraction and misdirection to acquire reliable information. A significant amount of deception occurs between some romantic and relational partners.
